>> we're at the press entrance. there is so much excitement in the air. over 20 live trucks, lots of media. we're going to go behind the scenes and give you a sneak peek all the excitement and everything that's going on. let's go. as you can see, pearl street has completely closed for the media trucks to park here. now, we've got trucks from almost all the news stations in

the city becauseertionv r everyone is going to be coretionv the big event. we have the microwave towers going. they're going to be getting the live feed from the big parade. the anticipation is over 1 million fans. so, if you're a giants fan this is really the place to be. we're standing on polk street where the street has been completely closed off with the exception of some chairs that are set up out front as there are thousands of fans behind the chairs. it really just looks like a sea of orange and black and there are more fans to the right of us here. everybody is so excited. and they really are gathered all over to see the world series champ. we're standing at a security checkpoint but we're going to go get an exclusive and check out the press risers. so, let's go. thousands of fans in the crowd, everyone is so excited. how are you guys doing? [cheering and applauding] >> everyone is excited at city hall. they've got a huge seating area out front here to make sure everybody gets a good view of all the action.

as you can see from the jumbo tron, the fa raid has already begun and the giants are working their way up market and they're going to end up here at civic center. they've got so much media here and nine camera productions. look at this huge train they've got here. the anticipation is building. the giants are almost here. everyone is ready for their arrival. the comcast crew is ready, and they've got two large sports cameras to capture all of the action. the commentators are here. they're excited. they want to comment.

we're excited. the fans are excited. should be about 15 minutes or so till we see the giants. hey, guys. [cheering and applauding] look at this amazing display. this looks incredible. and right in front of me is the press riser. and here's from all over the world. there are two press risers and they were built especially for this event. and as you can see, there are so many cameras here. they're from all over the world to shoot all of the action of today's event. civic center is full of giants fans. just look at this crowd. it's unbelievable. [cheering and applauding] >> in addition to all the cameras up on the risers, there's plenty of radio coverage, too. right behind me is knbr and the sports commentators are here talking about all the excitement, the world series and the giants' big win. in addition to the two risers for the press, there's actually a third riser for folks with disabilities so they can have a great view of the parade as well. the parade has arrived. the manager and the players are making their way in right now.

francisco giants. now, as we gather together as a community today to celebrate this joyous occasion we do want to take a moment first to recognize those impacted by hurricane sandy and mourn the lives loft from this disaster. of course the giants share a deep history with new york and our prayers go out to everyone on the east coast affected by this disaster and the red cross in those regions they really need our help everybody and we encourage you to donate for the relief fund at red cross .org and the giants players are going to make donations and the giants' organization is going to match

the donations by the employers. just think everybody here today and 1 dollar from all of us. that can really help and donate at red cross .org and we thank you for your generosity. it was just two years ago that we captured the championship since moving to san francisco and i think we're happy we didn't have to wait until 52 years. [cheers and applause] so today giants fans once again you are all world champions and together we are giants, so we have a wonderful program planned for you today and i know you're anxious to get this started

started and bring the guys out and celebrate your 2012 san francisco giants so let's get started. first of all we are joined by a number of special dignitaries who have helped to make san francisco one of the best baseball towns -- no, the best baseball town in america. [cheers and applause] let us now welcome and please show your love and enthusiasm the mayor of city and county of san francisco the honorable edwin lee. former mayor and current lieutenant governor the honorable gavin newsom. the city chief of protocol charlotte schultz, and her husband former secretary of state george schultz. former mayor willie brown.
